about
With this song I wanted to stylistically meet up with "Rocky Raccoon" and lyrically try to write about things that can naturally miss each other. Like a diamond and the dirt or a ship and the waves. This whole e.p. is mixed with commentary on my spiritual upbringing... almost in every song. Forgive me for that and enjoy the song!
lyrics
Mockingbirds are dancing in the morning.
I think they miss the moon.
I'm singing out of tune for you.
Marigolds are melting in the evening.
I think they miss the sun.
Oh, honey you're my only one.
Because fear is a room with no space to improve.
It's a mind you can't lose.
It's a face you can't bruise.
Love is a door we both can't afford
to pass up this time.
I'll be yours if you'll be mine.
There are diamonds growing dark
across the city.
I think they miss the earth.
I hang on every word of yours.
Sunken ships are sitting looking pretty.
I think they miss the waves.
Oh, look at all the mess we've made.
CHORUS
Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand.
I think he misses me.
The apple fallen from the tree.
